Validation and quality control of whole blood for transfusion
Study Description
Primary aim:
To suggest specific requirements for validation and quality control to be used for implementation and production of whole blood for transfusion.

Secondary aims:
1. To summarize what are currently done for validation and quality control by Blood Providers collecting and producing whole blood for transfusion
2. To identify which validation and quality control parameters that are regarded by current whole blood providers to be essential in describing the function of RBCs, plasma and platelets in whole blood during storage.
3. To describe and discuss published literature and current guidelines/regulations for the preparation of whole blood for transfusion.
