Member Reminders

  • BEST LXI Meetings will be held virtually during the week of 12-16 April 2021. Sessions require advance registration. Arrangements are being made with the Bristol Hotel to hold the Warsaw Meeting in Spring 2022.
  • Members who wish to invite MEETING and/or CONFERENCE CALL guests must have the pre-approval of the Chair. Please submit your requests for approval well in advance of each event. Approved guests will receive a separate Registration & Dinner RSVP, as well as meeting materials, and must complete a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). This applies to the Virtual Meetings as well.
  • Please be sure to keep your contact information on the website up to date so you can be assured of receiving our email updates.
  • Voting Members are reminded to please cast your vote on the changes to Bylaws no later than April 14, 2021.

Important News

  • The Main Virtual Meeting will be held on Friday 16 April 2021, with the individual team sessions being held on the days prior.
  • Due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, we have rescheduled the Warsaw Meeting for 2022.
  • Dates for Spring 2022 are 22-23 April.

BEST LXII Meeting

  • The Fall 2020 Meeting is tentatively scheduled for 13-14 Oct 2021.
  • The meeting location is to be determined; based on the AABB Annual Meeting beginning 16 Oct, it is planned for Southern California. We will be closely monitoring the situation as circumstances arise.
  • As with all meetings, guests must be approved in advance by the Chair.

BEST Collaborative is an international research organization with a vision to lead the field of transfusion medicine and cellular therapies toward the best products and practices for donors and patients.

We have 42 scientific members, 15 manufacturing sponsors, and 22 blood service sponsors from 22 countries representing a diversity of interests and high levels of accomplishment. The supporting members of BEST span a broad range of the companies and blood suppliers engaged with blood collection, distribution and transfusion worldwide. We also have been pleased to have some participation from regulatory agencies such as FDA and the Paul Ehrlich Institute. BEST has published 135 peer reviewed papers and has 40 studies currently open. As part of our mission, BEST believes it brings to the community thoughtful consideration to identify important questions in Transfusion Medicine, design and execute studies to address these questions, and provide critical thought and synthesis of the available evidence.
