Study Title
Application of pi-BAT to adverse events at blood transfusion and stem cell infusion
Study Description
The basophil activation test (BAT) has been used to analyze allergic transfusion reactions. Since it is difficult to obtain basophils from patients having chemotherapy or a haemopoietic stem cell transplantation, a passive immune basophil activation test (pi-BAT) was developed. The purpose of this project is to standardize pi-BAT for patients experiencing adverse reactions to blood products or HSC infusions. It will enable causative analysis for allergic adverse reactions from transfusions and HSC infusions.
