Study Title
Classifying Platelet Transfusion Refractoriness–
HLA Specificities, HLA Types and Patient Factors
HLA Specificities, HLA Types and Patient Factors
Study Description
Platelet transfusion refractoriness is a common clinical finding in transfused patients who have oncologic and hematologic diagnoses. Patients with immune-based refractoriness are usually supported with HLA-matched/compatible units and/or crossmatched units. Little is known about the HLA specificities that cause platelet refractoriness. Are there some antibody specificities that are more commonly identified in refractory patients?
