Attention to users of the following email services:
Outlook.com
Hotmail.com
MSN.com
Live.com
These domains by default have often routinely blocked emails coming from bestcollaborative.org. For those using Gmail please click HERE.
If you are experiencing issues receiving email messages from BEST and use one of the email service providers listed above, you will find it necessary to whitelist our email addresses. This is not guaranteed to work in all cases, please try the steps listed below:
NOTE: The screenshots and instructions below are for Outlook.com, but the steps will be identical for any of these services.
- Within your outlook.com, live.com, msn.com or hotmail.com email account, click on the gear icon in the upper right-hand side of the window:
- From this menu, please select Options.
- Then select Safe and blocked senders.
- Select Safe Senders.
- You will be presented with a page that will allow you to whitelist email addresses:
- To receive all emails from bestcollaborative.org please enter the following exceptions, and click Add to list >> for each:
@bestcollaborative.org
@redcap.bestcollaborative.org
Once you have entered these two exceptions you should be able to receive emails from BEST. If you are still unable to receive emails from BEST, we recommend that you use another free non-Microsoft based email provider (e.g. Gmail, iCloud)
GMail
If you are using a Gmail powered email address in your BEST username account, then you might be missing important email messages because Google is filtering your email messages and placing them in your Gmail spam folder.
In order to update settings in your Google account, please follow these steps:
- Login to your Gmail account using a web-based interface.
- Locate the email in your SPAM folder.
- Click on the message to read it.
- Cick on the More dropdown arrow on the opposite right side of the sender name
- Select the Show original item
- Find the Message-Id: you@domain.xxx line
- Find the Date: (sent) line just above the Message-Id line
- Access the Google report form http://support.google.com/mail/bin/request.py?&bug_topic=Incoming+Message+Not+Received&ctx=gtag_headers&contact_type=gtag_headers
- Fill in the form using the you@domain.xxx message id and the date sent information from the Show original item of the spam folder email.
- Close the Show original browser tab
- Click on the gray [Spam x] button above the sender name to mark that this conversation is not spam.
- Select the Add BEST Collaborative to contacts list item from the More dropdown menu to add our address to your contacts list (and approved senders list) .
