Dana Devine, PhD 1956-2024

It is with such a heavy heart that I have to share the very sad news that Dr. Dana Devine, immediate past President of BEST, has passed away. Dana was a key contributor to BEST over many years as a Scientific member, leader of the Conventional Components Team, and President. Dana was a first-class scientist who had an impact not only on Canadian Blood Services, but globally. She leaves an enormous legacy behind her, including a generation of younger professionals who she mentored passionately. We will be celebrating Dana's contribution to BEST and the wider Transfusion community at our next BEST meeting in Spring, where we will have time to come together and share our cherished memories.

Our thoughts are very much with Dana's family, and colleagues at Canadian Blood Services who will be feeling this loss immensely, as we do.
