The Scott Murphy Memorial Lecture was established in 2007 by the BEST Collaborative in recognition of the tremendous contribution of the late Dr. Scott Murphy, a past chair of the BEST Collaborative, had made to the field of transfusion medicine and to the science of platelet storage. The BEST Collaborative is encouraging junior faculty involved in the broadly understood field of transfusion medicine to apply for this unique award. The recipient of the next award will be invited to present during the BEST Meeting and to network with our members. A list of prior award recipients and their presentation titles can be found HERE.
Applications with a letter of interest and CV should be submitted online HERE.
Applications must be submitted by Monday, August 5th, 2024, at 12:00 PM Pacific Time, and the decision will be announced by the end of August.
The award recipient will present a lecture during our BEST Meeting to be held in Galveston, Texas 16-17 October 2024. The lecture should be no more than 30 minutes, followed by 10-15 minutes of question & answer.
The award recipient will be invited to attend the entire BEST Meeting. BEST will provide a $500 honorarium and up to $1000 stipend toward travel expenses to the BEST Meeting.
